SPEAKERS
Becky Clark has been married to Wayne for over 45 years. They homeschooled their four,                                                   now adult, children through graduation... and are now teaching two of their grandchildren                                                 at home as well. TOPICS

Getting Oriented: Knowing what you need and what is out there.
This session will cover the process of discovering your child's needs as well as the different options to support their needs based on their age. This presentation is tailored to families of special needs children and will cover in detail: gaining access to services that support those with disabilities or delays, what this specifically looks like, how to know when a suspected issue is truly a delay or disability as well as taking advantage of public support systems such as Early Intervention, Pre-school and obtaining an IEP.

Compass, Boots, Map: The Tools Available to Find Success.
This session will review the different service options for children of all ages, with respect to home-school families perspectives. Specifically, we will review the detailed paths that need to be taken to have access to Scholarships, Outpatient therapy services and navigating insurance plans to access these options. We also will review the importance of setting goals and finding the right home-school curriculum to support the growth of children with special needs.

You Know This Child,  BEST!
Setting realistic goals for the individual child and how these are incorporated into their personalized graduation requirements is not an easy task. But because you do know this child best how you meet the student’s basic education needs can be accomplished in the most effective ways. Using an individualized curriculum plan, which is developed for the child by the parents, best meets their needs and goals.

Tough as Diamonds
We all know that parenting is tough. Throw in an especially unique child, who approaches life differently and it is even more tough…but also more splendid! The relationships we have with our kids are the diamonds of life and if we see them as such our jewels will certainly sparkle! Come and be encouraged, to see how you and your family can be lights in a dark world. Becky hopes to equip you to take on the TOUGH and really shine in your home, homeschool,  and beyond!
